Woman crashes Car with Toddler onboard during Chase in Harrison County; Arrested

Authorities say the woman who led police on a car chase in Harrison County while caring for a toddler is now facing two crime charges.

Sheriff Robert Matheny stated that Faith Jigba has been charged with felony fleeing in a car while under the influence of drugs and child neglect that creates a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

The chase began in Harrison County on Saturday afternoon and finished near where U.S. Route 50 and Davisson Run Road (Route 98) meet. Officials say that during the chase, Jigba’s car hit another car, which had a 3-year-old child inside.

Sheriff Matheny told WV News that the officer who was chasing the car saw the child inside after it had stopped. He said Jigba was just going through.

Child Protective Services and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office are looking for family or friends who can take care of the child.
