Woman dies after car hits tree in Blount County

In Blount County on Sunday morning, a woman lost her life when her vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Laura D. Bostic, 55, was operating a 2008 Toyota Camry at around 10:55 a.m. when her vehicle veered off the road, into a ditch, and then struck a tree.

According to a statement released by the agency on Sunday, Bostic was declared dead at the scene of the collision and was not wearing a seat belt.

The collision happened on Mize Road close to Rooster Road, approximately three miles south of Remlap.

An inquiry is in progress.
