Authorities reported Thursday morning that a lady was struck and killed while crossing lanes on northbound Interstate 805.
When the woman tried to run towards 43rd Street, the fatal incident occurred before daylight, according to the California Highway Patrol. She was declared deceased at the scene after being hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe at approximately 5:20 a.m.
The vehicle’s driver, who was unharmed, stayed on the scene and assisted the police. According to CHP officials, drugs and alcohol are not thought to be contributing factors.
The victim’s name is still under wraps. Through the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, a toxicology report is still pending.
