Following the tragic boat accident that claimed the life of 27-year-old Brittney Sherman, a young family in Alabama is in mourning.
On June 15, Sherman, of Wilmer, Alabama, was boating in Mobile County’s Bayou Sara, close to Saraland, with her husband, Cody Sherman, 30, and their four kids.
Fox News Digital was informed by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) that two boats collided at around 5:50 p.m. on Sunday. According to authorities, the incident included a 26-foot Regulator Center Console and a 20-foot Avid Center Console that belonged to the Sherman family.
Officials said Brittney was flung overboard by the force of the accident.
Sherman was hard to find in the aftermath of the incident because of the bayou’s muddy waters, which hindered search attempts even though emergency personnel arrived quickly.

Search and rescue workers started looking for the missing mother again on Monday morning. Officers found Sherman’s corpse about 100 yards from where she had gone into the sea at around 10:50 a.m.
The incident injured two additional guests on board the Avid ship. For medical attention, Cody was sent to USA Health University Hospital in Mobile. A 4-year-old child of the Shermans was brought to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The Avid boat’s operator was unharmed in the crash. The Regulator vessel’s operator was also uninjured.
The cause of the crash is still being looked into by the ALEA Marine Patrol Division. There are no charges pending.

Together, Cody and Brittney had four kids. Cody talked about the stress of raising the kids by himself after her death.
“Brittney I love you more than anything in this world,” Cody stated on Facebook. “I promise to take care of these babies for you, sweetheart! I know that you are up there watching over us.”
“Please show me how to do this,” Cody continued. “I’m not sure how I’m gonna make it and I’m gonna do my best to make you proud. I love you until we meet again!!”
