State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani has received multiple death threats recently, according to his campaign and police, including a nasty bigot who threatened to bomb his car in an expletive-filled, anti-Muslim voicemail left at his office on Wednesday.
According to police, the threats against Mamdani, a Muslim US citizen who was born in Uganda, are being looked into by the NYPD’s hate crimes unit.
According to sources, the same unnamed man left two voicemails, both of which The Post was able to obtain, that combine terrifying threats of violence with racist hate speech.
The sicko wrote in the message on Wednesday, “You’re a terrorist piece of s–t, and you’re not welcome in New York or in America, neither is your f–king family so they should get the f–k out.”
“Go start your car and see what happens. I’d keep an eye on your house and family. Watch your f–king back every f–king second until you get the f–k out of America. Nobody wants your terrorist ways here.” The caller purportedly made reference to Israel’s pager attacks against Hezbollah when he said, “And check your beeper, too, you terrorist f–k. Beep beep.”
According to police, Mamdani’s Queens office has received four voicemails since March that contain threats against Muslims.
After receiving the unsettling voicemail on Wednesday, which seems to have been left by the same caller who left a similarly concerning message on June 11, a staff member reported the threats.
A representative for Mamdani’s campaign stated, “While Zohran does not own a car, the violent and specific language of what appears to be a repeat caller is alarming, and we are taking every precaution.”
“While this is a sad reality, it is not surprising after millions of dollars have been spent on dehumanizing, Islamophobic rhetoric designed to stoke division and hate. Violence and racism should have no place in our politics.”
The investigation into the hate crime comes as Mamdani, who is tied with former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary, was criticized for not condemning the rallying cry, “globalize the intifada,” which many believe is an incitement to violence against Jews.

Mamdani has stated time and time again that he opposes antisemitism and violence. He spoke tearfully on Wednesday about the death threats he and his family have received because of Islamophobia, but he did not go into specifics.
In the June 11 message, the hateful caller advised Mamdani to return to Uganda before someone “gets rid” of his family and shoots him in the head.
The racist caller declared, “You are not compatible with our Western values. So stop spewing your antisemitic rhetoric and get the fuck out of America.”
According to sources, the calls came from an untraceable number.
“There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing by the Hate Crime Task Force,” police stated.
