1 dead and 1 rushed to hospital after witnesses pulled them from burning vehicle in Brooklyn Park

According to police, one person died and another was hospitalised after a violent incident on Highway 252 in Brooklyn Park on Saturday morning.

The man died in Saturday’s crash has been named as Carlos Chavez Holliday, 36, by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The medical examiner’s findings stated that he died as a result of several blunt force injuries.

The driver, a 33-year-old man, was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Brooklyn Park police and fire departments, together with the State Patrol, responded to the single-vehicle incident near the junction of 252 and 80th/Humboldt Ave. soon before 7:30 a.m. They discovered that the vehicle involved had caught fire, and motorists who arrived at the site were able to rescue two people from the smouldering wreckage.

According to police, one individual was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the other was pronounced dead at the spot.

Recently, a chaotic police chase from Livingston County to Lansing on Tuesday afternoon was captured on new dash-cam footage released by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.

Police apprehended two young adults and three teenagers after the chase resulted in a multi-vehicle crash.

According to the speedometer in the video, the driver of the BMW X5 SUV was travelling at speeds exceeding 120 mph. The BMW was also seen crashing with at least a half-dozen more vehicles on the freeway and other routes in town. The sheriff’s department believes that at one point in the video, a gun is seen being thrown from the SUV into the motorway. This firearm and another were discovered along the road.

After exiting I-96, the BMW driver crashed with a car waiting at a red light near Jolly Rd and Cedar St, along with other vehicles, bringing them to a stop.
