Police are investigating after a 17-year-old girl was murdered and a 19-year-old male was badly injured in a crash on Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford early Sunday.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 3:37 a.m. on Sunday, when a black 2015 BMW sedan collided with a telephone pole near the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Wilmington West Chester Pike.
According to police, first responders discovered the BMW after it had flipped onto its roof near the northbound lanes of Baltimore Pike.
According to officials, the vehicle had two occupants, and the 17-year-old Brookhaven girl in the passenger seat died at the scene.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Media, was brought to a local hospital with critical injuries, according to officials.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
Furthermore, law enforcement officials have not disclosed any additional information about the identity of those involved in this incident, nor have they stated whether the driver will face prosecution.
However, police officials stated that an investigation is ongoing.
