Gang members arrested after multi-million-dollar Theft Spree across Contra Costa county

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office has charged eleven members of a suspected Antioch-Pitsburg street gang with a multimillion-dollar larceny spree, according to officials.

The 33-count criminal complaint was filed with the court on Thursday. The suspects are charged with conspiracy, grand theft of personal property, second-degree robbery, and other connected offences in connection with the spree.

According to a Friday press release from Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton’s office, the numerous thefts occurred between September 2024 and April 2025.

The merchandise was taken from Sunglass Hut shops in Concord, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, and Brentwood. Tobacco goods were removed from delivery vehicles in Pleasant Hill, Bay Point, and Pittsburg. The D.A.’s office also reported that numerous products were taken from Chanel, Nordstrom, and Alo Yoga in Walnut Creek.

Prosecutors allege that on March 27, Robert Crawford and three others stole tobacco crates from a Pleasant Hill 7-Eleven. Crawford then escaped in what police described as a stolen vehicle. He dodged police but eventually slammed into a fence at Antioch Elementary School. After the crash, all of the vehicle’s occupants fled the scene, but they were quickly arrested by local enforcement.

According to the D.A.’s office, the alleged gang members have been involved in countless store robberies and stolen automobiles, as well as leading police on multiple perilous chases throughout the Bay Area.

Prosecutors are considering amendments to street terrorism, taking property in concert, and taking property worth more than $50,000. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office has taken custody of eight of the suspects. They are awaiting arraignment and have a total bail of $21,995,140.

“Organized retail theft incidents require an organized law enforcement response,” said D.A. Becton.

The district attorney’s office did not name any of the other suspects in their news release.
