Gunshots exchanged between vehicles in Franklin; police recover firearm

After many gunshots were reported Thursday evening in southeastern Wisconsin, two young adults were placed under arrest.

Following a report of many gunshots, Franklin Police Department officers arrived at the 8600 block of West Cascade Drive at approximately 11 p.m.

Shots had been fired from one occupied vehicle into another, according to the results of an investigation. The fired-upon vehicle escaped the area and has not been found yet.

The suspect car was stopped by the Greendale Police Department shortly after. Two Franklin-based guys, ages 22 and 24, were placed under arrest. From the car, a gun thought to have been used in the incident was found.

According to authorities, this was a singular incidence involving people who were acquainted. The public is not under any continuous danger.

The search for the gunshot-damaged vehicle is still ongoing.
