A biker was killed after he collided with an SUV in west Harris County.
The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. on Sunday night.
A 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle was driving westbound in the 11900 block of W. Little York Road. The rider was operating in the centre of the road, outside the clearly demarcated lanes of travel.
The motorist of a 2015 Nissan Murano was exiting a private driveway that led to the business parking lot. The motorcycle collided with the SUV as the driver attempted to cross the westbound lanes to proceed eastbound.
According to preliminary findings, the rider was travelling through a no-passing zone before the crash. The cyclist, Ricardo Barraza, was discovered dead at the site.
The Murano driver was identified as Jesse Germany. He was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition. Authorities claimed Germany cooperated with the probe and showed no symptoms of impairment.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is looking into the event.
