According to officials, a dramatic multi-vehicle incident in the San Fernando Valley on Thursday night injured at least nine persons, two of whom were seriously hurt.
Details are sparse, and it’s unknown how the three-car accident occurred, but crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived to the scene in the 13300 block of Roscoe Boulevard just after 9 p.m. on reports of the disaster, according to police in a news release.
Sky5 recorded aerial images of the situation, which showed a large number of first responders and a cordoned-off area on both sides of the street.
Two of the vehicles had significant front-end damage and were positioned on either side of the street. A third vehicle, a white van in the middle of the road, had moderate damage and seemed to have one of the other vehicle’s front bumpers beneath its front end.
A massive debris field was visible spread on the road surrounding one of the automobiles in footage taken on the ground and submitted to the Citizen App.
According to fire officials, nine persons were hurt in all, with five being transported to the hospital with minor injuries and two in serious condition.
It is unclear whether alcohol, drugs, or excessive speeds were involved in the multi-casualty tragedy, and no other information has been supplied thus far.
