Later this week, a storm that might bring destructive winds, flooding, and large hail to Indiana is being closely monitored by meteorologists.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has warned of the possibility of scattered severe storms beginning at approximately 8 p.m. on Friday night. The storms come after a frost alert was issued early on Wednesday due to a cold front that was heading southeast.
Although it is too early to say whether these storms will be severe, NWS Indianapolis stated that you may anticipate partly to mainly cloudy sky with sporadic showers by the end of the week.
“As we get closer to the event, it’ll become clearer what the primary hazards are, where the storms will be, and whether or not the hazards need to be lowered or raised,” NWS meteorologist Matthew Eckhoff told IndyStar.
Cloudy skies will be the norm this week, with the sun breaking through before the likelihood of rain increasing towards the end of the week.
