A fresh round of Social Security benefits, which are a form of financial assistance for millions of people all across the United States, will be distributed at the beginning of the month of May.
It is common knowledge that the Social Security Administration (SSA) has a well-established payment schedule, which includes those beneficiaries who also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Although the Social Security Administration (SSA) delivers payments on a regular monthly basis, the dates of these payments can vary.
On the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of each month, recipients of Social Security Retirement, Disability, and Survivor (RSDI) benefits who submitted their applications after May 1, 1997 are given the opportunity to receive Social Security benefits.
SSI payments, which are monthly payments for those with disabilities and the elderly who have little or no income or resources, are distributed on the first day of each month to those who are eligible to receive them.
However, if the first of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, payments are often distributed on the business day that comes before the first of the month.
Additionally, a particular payment date is assigned to those individuals who received payments before to May 1997.
The dates listed below are the SSA payment dates for the month of May 2025
May is the month in which beneficiaries can anticipate receiving their monthly payments, and the following dates are included in this list:
Benefits received by Social Security recipients who started receiving them before to May 1997: May 2
Birthday Range | Payment Date (May 2025) | Weekday |
1st – 10th of the Month | May 14, 2025 | Second Wednesday |
11th – 20th of the Month | May 21, 2025 | Third Wednesday |
21st – 31st of the Month | May 28, 2025 | Fourth Wednesday |
Due to the fact that June 1 is a Sunday, the SSI payment for the month of June will also be given in May, namely on May 30. This will occur later in the month of May.
Beneficiaries of Social Security will not receive any payment on Wednesday, May 7, due to this reason; instead, they will be required to wait until the following week to collect their payments.
