Three Dorman High School students were murdered and another injured in a multi-car accident involving a tractor-trailer in Spartanburg County on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Fairforest Clevedale Road and Old Blackstock Road.
According to officials, a 2021 freightliner tractor-trailer was going south and attempted to turn left into Old Blackstock Road. A 2004 Dodge pickup truck and a 2010 Chevrolet Coupe going west on Old Blackstock Road collided with the tractor-trailer.
The driver of the coupe was also brought to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with injuries.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office named the three people who died as Daniel Diaz, 15, of Spartanburg, Aben Sisk, 16, of Spartanburg, and Itzel Garcia-Trejo, 17, of Spartanburg.
Sisk and Diaz died on the site, while Garcia-Trejo died in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
“This is a large loss of life and I ask that you keep the families and friends of all mentioned decedents in your thoughts and prayers during their time of loss and grief,” Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said.
