Warm Weekend ahead for New York & nearby States, Chilly Weather coming Next Week

The weekend will be warm for spring, but next week there will be a Big Spring Chill. The best day for weather is Saturday, when highs will be in the low to mid-80s and it will be mostly dry. Late Sunday night, a cold front will come through bringing rain and storms.

This is the best chance for it to rain more widely, especially from Sunday night into Monday morning. At this point, a half-inch to over-an-inch of rain is predicted. Of course, any storm can bring more rain to some places than others.

The rain will stop for the first part of Monday, and next week will bring much cooler air called Spring Chill. The highs during the day will be in the 40s and 50s, and the lows at night will be in the 20s and 30s.

  • Saturday: Warm and windy. Mostly dry, but a stray shower could happen late. Low to mid-80s for highs. Lows in the middle to upper 60s.
  • Sunday: It will be mostly cloudy with a few storms and isolated showers. It’s more likely to rain Sunday night. Highs in the middle to upper 70s. Lows in the upper 40s.
  • Monday: The early showers are over. Afternoon clouds and sun. Cool and breezy. Highs in the middle to upper 50s. Cooler Lows in the low to mid-30s.
  • Tuesday: Sunny, cool, and windy. Highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Lows 25 to 30. (conditions of frost or freeze)
  • Wednesday: Sunny and not too hot. Highs in the middle to upper 50s. Lows in the low to mid-30s. (conditions of frost or freeze)
  • Thursday: Cool with sun and clouds. Highs in the low 60s. Lows in the mid-40s.
  • Friday: Mostly cloudy with rain. Low to mid-60s for highs.

There will likely be frost and freeze Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, as well as Wednesday night and Thursday morning. It’s still early spring.
