According to the Stockton Fire Department, a person has been reported missing after their SUV was involved in an accident that occurred on Sunday morning in Stockton.
At around 6:19 in the morning, the vehicle, which was being driven by a Stockton resident who was 30 years old, was traveling south on Interstate 5 at Downing Avenue when it collided with a metal guard barrier and then proceeded to fall down an embankment and into the lake.
Upon the discovery of the automobile, the fire department reported that the driver was not present inside the vehicle.
After some time had passed, the body of the driver was discovered in the slough, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.
Crews from the Stockton Fire Department collaborated with the dive team from the San Joaquin County Department in order to respond to the incident after it occurred.
