Alabama State University Launches Workforce-Focused Cannabis Certificate Programs

Alabama State University (ASU) is expanding its cooperation with Green Flower, the industry leader in cannabis education and training, in order to launch a new series of cannabis certificate programs that are geared towards the workforce.

The most recent courses expand upon the successful cannabis education plan that Arizona State University has been implementing.

These offerings offer specialised training in a shorter amount of time to individuals who are interested in pursuing employment in the emerging cannabis business.

Students are prepared for hands-on employment in cannabis production, retail, and product development through these nine-week certificate programs that are entirely online and do not award credit. The programs are designed to focus on workforce development.

Career starts, industry professionals, and business owners who are interested in gaining expertise in this rapidly developing subject are the target audience for these programs.

The following are the three new certificate programs within the workforce:

  • The Cannabis Cultivation Specialist is responsible for covering the most effective methods for the cultivation of cannabis plants, as well as environmental controls and managerial strategies for both indoor and outdoor grow facilities. Graduates will be qualified for positions in commercial cultivation and will have the necessary skills.
  • The Cannabis Retail Specialist is responsible for providing candidates with an in-depth grasp of the cannabis supply chain, compliance, and retail operations. Students who choose to pursue this certificate will be prepared for positions in customer service and management of dispensaries.
  • Specialising in the science of cannabis extraction and the formulation of goods such as oils, edibles, and topicals, the Cannabis Extraction and Product Development Specialist is responsible for studying and developing products. Students who graduate will acquire information that is essential for professions in the manufacturing of cannabis products and product innovation.

“Alabama State University remains committed to providing cutting-edge educational opportunities that empower individuals for success in emerging industries,” ASU President, Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr stated. “Through our Division of Continuing Education, these new workforce-focused programs in partnership with Green Flower will equip individuals with the skills and expertise needed to thrive in the rapidly growing cannabis sector.”

As a result of Green Flower’s selection of industry leaders to teach each program, students are certain to get real-world insights and knowledge.

A credential from Arizona State University will be awarded to students who successfully complete these programs.
