In connection with a lengthy and extensive burglary spree, Arkansas State Police investigators collaborating with two out-of-state agencies carried out search warrants in Jacksonville and Sherwood, leading to an arrest.
Curtis Lee Barton, 40, of Jacksonville was arrested because, according to authorities, he was a suspect in more than 30 business burglaries throughout southern Iowa and northern Missouri over a number of decades.
When ASP investigators searched Barton’s Jacksonville residence, they allegedly discovered evidence that he used to perpetrate the crimes.
According to ASP officials, the investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office of Missouri and the Wapellow County Sheriff’s Office of Iowa.
Barton is accused of burglary, theft, and property damage, and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office presented him with five arrest warrants.
Records indicate that Barton is being held without bond at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center, where officials say they booked him using an arrest warrant from Lewis County, Missouri.
