The White House The White House is bringing military moms back to The People’s House in observance of Mother’s Day this year.
On Thursday afternoon, First Lady Melania Trump greeted women who are serving their country in uniform, mothers of service members, and mothers whose spouses are in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Additionally present were Vice President JD Vance, President Donald Trump, and Second Lady Usha Vance.
The first lady was introduced in the East Room by the president, who also thanked the uniformed personnel.
The president stated, “You all do an outstanding job, and you should take tremendous pride in what you’re doing and what you do,” referring to all of the service members.
The president thanked Air Force One pilots, White House Medical Unit nurses, and military band musicians for their contributions to the White House.
First lady Melania Trump acknowledged parenthood as a “life-changing event” at the beginning of her speech.
She described it as a “event that simultaneously exposes and invincible women.” It’s very amazing that, even now, my son’s life continues to bring me unfathomable, erratic worries and excitement.”
“All caring mothers understand these rare feelings. Nothing against fathers, of course,” she joked, “but in my opinion, and I’m sure everyone in this room agrees, only a mother can grasp this particular point.”
In 2017, 2018, and 2019, Mrs. Trump threw similar celebrations for military mothers.
“Military mothers and America together have developed an extraordinary parallel journey,” the first lady said.
She encouraged these mothers to put their health first and take care of themselves, saying that their strength is “the bedrock of a brighter future for our children.”

Additionally, President Trump praised an increase in military enlistments.
“I’m pleased to report that, since November, enlistment numbers for every branch of the armed forces have surged to the highest levels in 48 years,” he stated.

Following the occasion, the Army Chorus, Navy Sea Chanters, and Air Force Singing Sergeants performed musically at a reception for military families.

President Trump has issued executive orders addressing several issues facing military families since he returned to the White House.
The president gave the defense secretary instructions in January to bring back service personnel who had been released due to the military’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement under Executive Order 14184.
After that, he signed Executive Order 14191, which was named “Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families.”
The defense secretary will choose how military families can utilize agency funding to send their kids to the school of their choosing, according to one part of the document.
