As Easter weekend approaches, so does the possibility of severe weather throughout the Metroplex. Winds are ramping up, humidity is rising, and an unpredictable weather trend is taking hold.
Winds and humidity return to North Texas today. Winds could gust to 30 to 35 mph, but the skies will be largely sunny.
Clouds are forecast to rise from midday until evening, resulting in more cloudy conditions. High temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 80s.
The first round of storms is predicted late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Some might be severe, with hail and high winds, especially Saturday early. Heavy rain is possible, but not expected to linger the entire day.
A very powerful system will arrive in late Saturday night, bringing heavy rain, violent storms, hail, destructive winds, and a low tornado hazard. Flooding is also probable in certain regions.
The storm is expected to pass fast, resulting in a rather dry Easter Sunday. Morning clouds should dissipate by afternoon, revealing beautiful weather with highs in the 70s and dry winds.
Dry air will persist through Monday, but another wave of storms—and the danger of more severe weather—will arrive on Tuesday.
