Horizon Police reported that a 24-year-old guy was apprehended after crashing his vehicle during an alleged street racing over the weekend.
Ryan Bradley Marsh, 24, was arrested in Horizon on Monday, April 14, and is charged with reckless driving. He has a $5,000 bond.
At around 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, a Horizon Police Department sergeant was patrolling the 14400 block of Eastlake Boulevard.
The sergeant observed two vehicles heading westbound at a fast speed, side by side and looking to be in a street race.
Horizon Police claimed radar verified both vehicles were speeding at 96 mph, over twice the legal speed limit.
As the vehicle passed the police unit, the sergeant performed a U-turn to execute a traffic stop.
Horizon Police said one of the vehicles took a quick left turn, lost control, and collided with a rock wall on Benton Street.
The driver, Marsh, exited the vehicle and was arrested without incident. Horizon Police reported that a firearm was discovered during a subsequent search of the vehicle.
