A two-vehicle collision Friday morning caused one automobile to crash into a Tacoma home, killing one person and injuring another.
The deadly incident occurred at the intersection of South Alaska Street and South 38th Street, in the city’s Lincoln International District. Tacoma police and first responders were called to the location shortly after 5:00 a.m.
According to preliminary findings, one vehicle was stopped at a red light when it was rear-ended by another vehicle for unknown reasons. The accident forced the first vehicle to collide with a nearby residence. While no one was injured in the home, one of the occupants in the automobile died.
One individual in the second vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital for unidentified injuries.
An examination into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy is still ongoing. Tacoma Police are requesting anyone with information to contact the agency.
