2-hour extrication saved 18-year-old driver in Glasgow after car collided with School bus

A yellow school bus and a car collided in New Castle County, Delaware. The crash happened on Wednesday morning.

The teen driver of the car was stuck in the wreckage for two hours.

The accident took place in Glasgow at 8 a.m. on April 9, 2025, on Summit Bridge Road (Route 896) and Brennan Boulevard (Route 71).

People trying to help could be seen swarming around the car that crashed next to the bus. They looked like they were concentrating on that car and finally got an 18-year-old woman out of it.

An official from New Castle County Paramedics said in a news release that the “extensive extrication” took almost two hours.

“She was treated by the New Castle County Paramedics for extremity and internal injuries,” the news release said. “She was transported to Christiana Hospital on board Delaware State Police Helicopter in critical condition.”

EMTs said that none of the 14–17-year-olds on the bus were hurt.
