Farewell to Old Payment Dates Social Security & SSDI Changes Hit Next Week

There will be no payments made between the dates of May 5 and May 12, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA), which has confirmed this. In order to receive their payments, retirees, handicapped individuals, widows, and veterans will have to wait until the 14th of May.

In the current year, the month of May is one of the months that will have the most recent payment schedule for Social Security.

Nevertheless, retirees who started receiving benefits prior to 1997 received their payouts earlier than normal this month, on May 2 rather than the usual third. This is in accordance with the customary practice.

In addition, because the first of June is a Sunday, this month’s SSI payment is doubled from the previous month’s payment.

There will be a total of six payments distributed by the Social Security Administration (SSA) this month as a consequence of this payment being paid early—on May 30.
